New soundtrack for silent movie "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari"
MINIMATIKON composed and recorded music for the classic horror film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" (1920) directed by Robert Wiene. In 2009, the group signed a licensing agreement with Vivarto, a Warsaw-based company that distributes "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" in Poland. Thanks to this agreement, the group's music accompanied regular studio and cinema screenings of the film, becoming the official soundtrack for this piece in Poland. The band performed their music live on multiple occasions, directly accompanying the film. While playing for "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari," MINIMATIKON performed at various festivals, including the “LATO FILMÓW Festival in Warsaw,” T-Mobile New Horizons in Wrocław, the Silent Film Festival “Nieme na żywo” in Gdańsk and the OKFA Festival in Konin.
